Co-organized by Cube-Garges and the École des Arts Décoratifs – PSL (EnsadLab), this 28th edition of ISEA took place in Paris at the Forum des Images in May 2023. The general theme was symbiosis. As evidenced by the 99 original articles published, these proceedings offer a ‘core sample’ of the various layers of contemporary creation and research worldwide, at the interface of sciences and technologies.

Out of the 660 proposals received for the academic call (1,400 in total), from more than 70 countries, 230 were selected, including these 99 short and long articles, which were then reviewed by 200 international researchers and experts who evaluated these submissions through a double-blind process. More than 50 global organizations participated, including an official delegation from Quebec, with over 50 partner cultural sites offering complementary programs. The 770 pages of these proceedings also include the report of the third Summit on New Media Archiving.
