Microbiologist Vincent Rennie is taking part in the Sweden-France joint workshop on Sustainable and Safe Composites of the Future co-organised by the Luleå University of Technology (LTU) and University of Lorraine (UL) with the support of the Franska Institutet i Sverige, Ambassade de France in Luleå on the 27-28th of May 2024. This is the occasion for the Soft Matters research group to discuss with French and Swedish colleagues driven by similar sustainable endeavours of the design of a new composite a lightweight and flame-retardant material that relies on a biocalcified foam made from paper waste with the microbiologic power of bacteria.
