Call for application – post-doc in microbiology for design
The Soft Matters research group, Ensadlab is looking for a science-led researcher with a background in microbiology, microbial engineering, 3D bio-printing or bio-chemistry to join ImpressioVivo, -an interdisciplinary project sitting at the intersection of architecture, design and microbiology-, examining the 3D printing of bacterially-informed materials for circular design applications in an architectural context. The post-doctoral researcher will play a central role in the articulation of a bespoke method for the design of bacterially-mediated materials for the architectural and design domain. The post-doc will contribute to adapting microbiology lab protocols to a design context, investigating how they can be developed to support artistic prototyping at an object or architectural scale for bioluminescent hydrogels and bio-calcified paper waste foam materials.
