Le 8 décembre 2025, à l’Institut Imagine, Audrey Brugnoli a soutenu sa thèse de doctorat en design, intitulée Peaux Éthiques – Interfaces et enveloppes cutanées : pour un design sociotechnique des dispositifs médicaux à l’Hôpital Necker – Enfants Malades.
À travers une recherche menée au cœur du soin, cette thèse explore la co-conception de dispositifs médicaux sensibles, pensés avec les enfants atteints d’épidermolyse bulleuse et leurs équipes soignantes. En articulant performance médicale, qualité de vie et attention portée aux dimensions plastiques et sensibles des objets de soin, ce travail ouvre de nouvelles perspectives pour un design profondément engagé, éthique et situé.
La soutenance a été suivie d’une exposition des travaux de recherche, offrant un aperçu concret des démarches, prototypes et expérimentations développés au fil du doctorat.

On December 8, 2025, at the Institut Imagine, Audrey Brugnoli defended her PhD in Design, entitled
Ethical Skins – Interfaces and Cutaneous Envelopes: Toward a Sociotechnical Design of Medical Devices at Necker – Enfants Malades Hospital.
Through research conducted at the very heart of care, this thesis explores the co-design of sensitive medical devices developed alongside children affected by epidermolysis bullosa and their caregiving teams. By articulating medical performance, quality of life, and close attention to the material, plastic, and sensory dimensions of care objects, this work opens new perspectives for a deeply engaged, ethical, and situated approach to design.
The defense was followed by an exhibition of the research work, offering a concrete insight into the methods, prototypes, and experiments developed throughout the doctoral research.
