Inès Bel Mokhtar interviendra lors de la conférence « Dé-designer, décoloniser, réparer, réhabiter »

À l’occasion de cette conférence, Inès Bel Mokhtar présentera un projet de thèse en cours de construction, assumant pleinement ses doutes, ses interrogations et ses tâtonnements. Cette recherche s’inscrit à la croisée du biorégionalisme et de la redirection écologique, et prend pour point de départ le vécu discriminatoire ainsi que les oppressions systémiques subies par les populations des quartiers populaires.
À travers l’analyse des chantiers de réhabilitation menés dans le cadre du NPNRU, la recherche interroge les conditions d’une transformation urbaine radicalement différente. Elle vise à mettre en lumière la manière dont le continuum colonial continue de s’incarner dans ces territoires, tant dans leurs formes bâties que dans les processus décisionnels qui les traversent.
En s’appuyant sur des enquêtes de terrain menées à Saint-Denis, La Courneuve, Bobigny et Grigny, Inès Bel Mokhtar explore les traces anthropocéniques et les communs négatifs coloniaux afin de développer un outil d’intervention porté par la voix des habitant·es. L’enjeu est de proposer une méthodologie hybride, mêlant enquête de terrain et guide de conception, pour penser une écologie de la libération des terres et ouvrir la voie à d’autres manières de concevoir, réparer et réhabiter les territoires.
La conférence sera également l’occasion de partager les questions qui traversent cette recherche : peut-on penser une éthique de la réhabitation dans le cadre même de la réhabilitation ? Comment articuler des pensées utopistes et théoriques sur l’habitabilité du monde avec la réalité concrète des chantiers ? Quels sont les défis spécifiques d’une thèse CIFRE menée au sein d’une agence d’architecture ?
Cette intervention mettra en avant les premiers jalons de ce travail doctoral ainsi que les réflexions portées au sein du groupe de recherches Territoires.

On the occasion of this conference, Inès Bel Mokhtar will present a doctoral project currently in the making, openly embracing its doubts, questions, and moments of trial and error. Positioned at the intersection of bioregionalism and ecological redirection, this research takes as its starting point lived experiences of discrimination and the systemic oppressions faced by populations in working-class neighborhoods.
Through the analysis of rehabilitation projects carried out within the framework of the NPNRU, the research examines the conditions for a radically different form of urban transformation. It seeks to shed light on how the colonial continuum continues to manifest in these territories, both in their built forms and in the decision-making processes that shape them.
Drawing on fieldwork conducted in Saint-Denis, La Courneuve, Bobigny, and Grigny, Inès Bel Mokhtar explores anthropocenic traces and colonial negative commons in order to develop an intervention tool grounded in the voices of residents. The aim is to propose a hybrid methodology that combines field investigation and design guidance, offering a way to think through an ecology of land liberation and to open up alternative ways of conceiving, repairing, and reinhabiting territories.
The conference will also be an opportunity to share the key questions driving this research: can an ethics of reinhabitation be conceived within the very framework of rehabilitation? How can utopian and theoretical reflections on the habitability of the world be brought down to earth within the concrete realities of construction sites? What are the specific challenges of conducting a CIFRE doctoral thesis within an architectural practice?
This talk will highlight the early foundations of this doctoral work, as well as the reflections developed within the Territoires research group.
